As part of the resolution of the libpng vulnerability (bug #49887) we |

propose to clean up old libpng versions, including all 1.0.* versions. |

Since this package doesn't seem to have a maintainer (please correct me |

if I am wrong here), I prefer to double-check with everyone this won't |

break anything. |

Historically (back in 2002), libpng was slotted as "1.0" and "1.2" in |

order to prevent revdep-rebuilding all packages when libpng hit 1.2. |

Today, no package in portage specifically requires 1.0.* and most |

packages specifically require >=1.2.0. |
