Hi all, |
2 |
|
3 |
We finally have a stable-keyworded KDE 3.4.x. Enjoy :-) |
4 |
|
5 |
If you're using monolithic ebuilds (this include all 3.3.x ebuilds) consider |
6 |
moving to the split ones: http://www.gentoo.org/doc/en/kde-split-ebuilds.xml |
7 |
|
8 |
There are no explicit instructions for upgrading from the monolithic to the |
9 |
split ebuilds there (TODO....) and apparently that confused some people, so |
10 |
I'll summarize: |
11 |
|
12 |
When upgrading from KDE 3.3.x, you can just emerge split ebuilds freely. |
13 |
|
14 |
When upgrading from KDE 3.4.x monolithic to 3.4.x split, it's easiest to first |
15 |
unmerge the monolithic ebuilds and then emerge the split ones. There are a |
16 |
few hours in between with nothing installed, so it's good for an overnight |
17 |
install. (You can do it for each monolithic package in turn.) |
