9 Unless you setup syslog so its running (if it is just ignore me) then the
10 reason is because gentoo currently doesn't use syslogd by default. It
11 uses the god aweful multilog (part of daemontools) which will hopefully
12 going away soon... (btw, check out syslog-ng if you are looking for a
13 syslog replacement ;)
