Hi all, |
2 |
|
3 |
I am going to add a bullet point to the Gentoo Linux Development Policy [1], |
4 |
part "General guidelines" which reads: |
5 |
|
6 |
""" |
7 |
Every package must be accompanied by a metadata.xml |
8 |
file which lists - amongst other information - what herd (and/or individual |
9 |
maintainers) is in charge of the package. |
10 |
""" |
11 |
|
12 |
The metadata document [2] itself contains more information on the format of |
13 |
the metadata.xml file and contains examples (plus information on what to do |
14 |
if you want to add yourself to a herd). |
15 |
|
16 |
I believe this update is needed to document the herds.xml/metadata.xml more |
17 |
clearly (it's currently almost undocumented). |
18 |
|
19 |
Unless I receive any remarks on this, I'll commit this this later this week. |
