A couple of CD images are available from http://gentoo.org/~christoph. |
2 |
|
3 |
They have the following features: |
4 |
1. Boot fully functional gentoo system. |
5 |
2. Hardware detection and driver loading |
6 |
3. Start up Web Browser (links in graphics mode) on local web server. |
7 |
4. Menu driven installation |
8 |
|
9 |
CDs contain a full development enviroment so that any software can be |
10 |
build and a rich set of tools for diagnostics and configuration. If X is |
11 |
supported then the X server can be autoconfigured. Accessing web content |
12 |
is possible from links. Most webpages are rendered with graphics. Links |
13 |
can be used to research information you might need to fix driver and |
14 |
installation issues. |
15 |
|
16 |
All software can be either run off the CD or be installed without building |
17 |
from source (build for Pentium). Installing a complete Gentoo system takes |
18 |
10 minutes. System can be later optimized by editing make.conf and |
19 |
rebuilding components. |
