[gentoo-dev] xfree, gnome2 and aa - assistance needed

Hi,

if you have xfree 4.2 with gnome2 going and anti aliasing actually does
work for you, please read on. aa seems to break or just stop working on
a random basis. this concerns following bug report:

azarah and i, we just don't know what do to next or where to search for.
it seems like we keep going in a circle. 

so if it works for you could you please pass on some information about
your configuration? (gcc version, flags used in make.conf, processor
type, gnome-1.4 installed apps, special config tweaks , ...) 
also any recommendations how to get this thing going (or how to debug)
it are welcome.
