7 The trick is to add "alsa" to your USE setting in /etc/make.conf. Then the
8 linux-sources will include a /usr/src/linux/extras/alsa directory, and when
9 you merge linux-extras (a special package that uses your *current* sources
10 in /usr/src/linux) it will use the sources in /usr/src/linux/extras/alsa to
11 install the alsa modules and includes.

13 So, if you are using linux-sources, add "alsa" to USE, remerge linux-sources,
14 then remerge linux-extras and you should have alsa available to you.
