Subject: [gentoo-dev] macos system ebuild classification and libtool

hey everyone,
libtool on osx is completely messed up. there's a systematic approach that
the fink guys take with this stuff and i think that if someone were to
write into a little code checking the os type/or arch var and
then apply a patch to libtool [ basically, fink's patch ] most of the
compile-time issues could be resolved.
i've also found a list of tars for the software that comes with darwin.
i'd like to make ebuilds of that stuff and i'm having problems
categorizing them. they already exist in portage but, the copies i found
off the apple site are "apple approved" versions.
i was thinking of maybe doing a couple of packages for
sys-libs and for software in darwin that is redundant [ like packages for
gcc, etc ] i was going to make special ebuilds with the following the
gentoo format but, including a -macos before the release number.
