Apart from waiting for incorporating ssp into c++ compilations 4.x can
still be used with the old 3.4.6 behavior. I'm using the following
modified specs from solar for months now with success (along with some
minor eclass modifications - http://atoth.sote.hu/~atoth/specs). Of course
it omits ssp at the same places where 3.4.6 omitted it too.
What if the hardened community would move on to 4.x without minispecs,
using the well-known 3.4.6 mechanism (as some of us had already did)?
There would be still time for transition to novel implementation of ssp
for c++, implementing ebuild support for minispecs and all other stuff.
