From what I have seen and heard that relationship ended some time ago. I |
10 |
do not believe any Sun peeps are committing to apache/jakarta projects. |
11 |
From poking around glassfish-servlet-api seems to be based on jakarta |
12 |
tomcat sources, which is basically Tomcat 4.x(maybe 5.0.x, surely not |
13 |
5.5.x). |

|
15 |
Since Tomcat as of 4.x was the official reference implementation of |
16 |
servlet 2.3/jsp 1.2 api's. But not clear if that's the case for 5.0 or |
17 |
5.x 2.4/2.0, and surely not with 6.x 2.5/2.1. |

Seems there were some differences there amongst developers, and it has |
20 |
been pretty much completely severed. I also noticed in glassfish some |
21 |
sun-commons stuff, so not sure if they are duplicating that as well. |
22 |
|
23 |
No clue where all this is going, aside from having multiple |
24 |
implementations for allot of things. But surely seems as if there has |
25 |
been a fork. |
