for app-emacs/highline: 1) Switch to *scratch* buffer if you're not already in it by pressing C-x b and typing *scratch* 2) Press M-x and type highline-mode 3) Type some random stuff then press Enter 4) Go back to previous line 5) The background colour of the entire line should become green -- Stelian Ionescu a.k.a. fe[nl]ix Quidquid latine dictum sit, altum videtur.
