Recently, I've been getting intermittent DNS failures for |

rsync1.us.gentoo.org with increasing frequency. |

rsync1.us.g.o is a CNAME that points to gentoo-rsync.afn.org. |

which in turn resolves to an IP. |

The first name is resolved by udns1/udns2.ultradns.net. That part |

seems to always work fine. |

The name pointed to (gentoo-rsync.afn.org.) is in turn resolved |
| 13 |
by freenet8.afn.org. and name.ufl.edu. Those two sometimes fail |
| 14 |
me (they both do at the same time). Usually, this happens for one |

run of my cronjob (which tries three times). |

Last failure was at Thu, 04 Oct 2007 03:15:38 +0200. |

Unfortunately, I don't have any older timestamps (I'll be sure to |

jot them down next time). |
