Chris, I'm glad there is some debate going on. I agree with everything you have written. Non Gentoo Developers will probably contribute more to the foundation than ebuild developers (they don't have the same focus on software) and in the long term, that's the way I want to see the Foundation go. Allow me to refer you to my election manifesto. As I see it today, we need a set of bylaws that we can live with as soon as we can get them, then develop the bylaws as we develop the Foundation. I believe that its essential to the long term survival of the Gentoo Foundation to open up Foundation membership to the whole community. I'm aware that not everyone shares that view so I would rather have some agreed bylaws that we can build on than spend the rest of our first term of office failing to ratify any bylaws at all. I'm sure if we make the changes in small steps, we will make faster progress than going for the big bang. - -- Regards, Roy Bamford (NeddySeagoon) a member of gentoo-ops forum-mods treecleaners trustees -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v2.0.9 (GNU/Linux) iEYEARECAAYFAkgJLIUACgkQTE4/y7nJvauDHwCgprSUaZhpa5dwtOLDzR77S+nV bJoAni6oVGA7vC2rQ9DKGJYwyviKRfc7 =2X6/ -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- -- gentoo-nfp@l.g.o mailing list
