1 It seems it would make the most sense to use GNU gettext. There is GNU
2 gettext support for a number of languages, including Bash, Python, Awk,
3 Java, and Perl, in addition to the obvious C and C++, and we could add
4 support to a portage-specific ebuild language if there comes to exist
5 such a language. Any other solution would most certainly be more work
6 than GNU gettext.
