| I've made the vdb-depset-test.py slightly more robust by adding a |

| fix_whitespace() function that fixes whitespace around operator tokens |

| in order to get around DepSet ParseErrors. That function can be added |

| to savior somewhere in order to provide backward compatibility with old |

| vdb depstrings. There's already a repoman patch (needs a little work) |

| attached to bug 114948 that addresses this issue on the commit side. |

I've updated the script so that it works much like emaint now (complete with --fix option). The DepSet whitespace validation has been included in portage-2.1 repoman (bug 114948), but the attached script will be useful while whitespace issues continue to exist in some ebuilds and vdbs. |
