Up to now I didn't succeed in installing Gentoo on a second ATA-harddrive of |

my G5 (1.8 GHz dual proc.) by using the iso-image gentoo-G5-2003-10-11. |

Keeping myself to the instructions in the Gentoo Installation Manual I get a |

boot prompt after restarting the Mac, and the booting-procedure starts right |
| 8 |
after I hit the return-key. Nevertheless, the booting procedure stopps very |

soon. |

The last three lines on screen are: |

In the last line the booting process stopps for the first time at |

After that the whole procedure stopps, only the fans of the processor |

coolers start to become extremely busy (and noisy). |

Both of the harddrives are ATA-drives, by the way, and I have no virus |

software running in the background. |

Did anyone of you experience the same or similar? Does anyone know a |

solution? I'll appprechiate any help! |
