Posters Poseters, come get your posters! |
2 |
I think poster size and specifications depend on the theme. Personally |
3 |
I like collecting a few posters so I'll give you my input. Technical |
4 |
posters should only have technical information with a nice backround. |
5 |
Now the reversed and also in the advertising world is cool picture and |
6 |
small logo. |
7 |
Landscapes are especially awesome but I think aiming for something cool |
8 |
with Larry the Cow and a gentoo penguin doing something cool like |
9 |
wearing matrix glasses and suits *don't use this idea* like the movie |
10 |
would be eye catching and people would get it. Posters are more of an |
11 |
advertisment to those who love Gentoo and just gives the people that |
12 |
don't know Gentoo enough question to ask, whoa what is that. This would |
13 |
aim for the media and the freestyle groups while putting us at ease and |
14 |
not seperating the two catagories. |
15 |

Thank, |

As a guy who has headed up several organizations, created and directed several publications, and been responsible for the PR end of all these projects, there is nothing worse than trying to make sense out of chaos, and nothing as frustrating as getting a group of people to understand the necessity and benefits of consistency. I am pretty intrigued by your 'CSS' idea for posters/fan-packs/etc. I have been checking out the artwork that I've seen posted to the list lately, and it has been pretty good. I think there is a great need for consistency in any posters and other published visual goods meant for PR. This is, of course, the essence of public relations, right? That people ought to be able to look at something and say, "Yep, that's Gentoo." And this entails more than just slapping the Gentoo G on everything, doesn't it? Just to clarify my own intentions, my question was an inquiry on whether submissions/suggestions for PR materia are generally accepted/considered/encouraged--given that they are aligned with the Gentoo [PR] philosophy and media-specific standards. I hope that helps. |
