While the /usr merge does require people to use initramfs, using |
36 |
initramfs does not require a /usr merge. |
37 |
|
38 |
Please, keep two completely separate topics separate like they are. I |
39 |
am 1000% behind requiring initramfs, I couldn't possibly care less about |
40 |
/usr merge, in my eyes it's a hack to handle stupidity. |
41 |
|
42 |
Upstream systemd/udev/whatever is slowly making our lives miserable |
43 |
because they expect an initramfs to have /usr mounted. Personally, it |
44 |
isn't so hard to either use initramfs or just not have /usr on it's own |
45 |
partition. I believe the docs are already mostly updated if not |
46 |
completely updated already, all we are waiting on is for people to |
47 |
realize just how impossible it is to keep randomly moving things out of |
48 |
/usr because people with broken setups can't boot. |
49 |
|
50 |
Thanks, |
51 |
