The strength of Freenode was definitely the ability to collaborate |
22 |
between many FOSS projects easily, which also shared many knowledgeable |
23 |
people between them. And our good relations with the network staff, that |
24 |
has now migrated to Libera. Therefore I don't think, that setting up our |
25 |
own Gentoo IRCd network would work very well for us, which has been |
26 |
suggested. (bgo #791187) |
27 |
|
28 |
Whatever is decided, I feel like it should be the best one considering |
29 |
all FOSS projects. That's why it's better to have this conversation |
30 |
publicly, hopefully without unrelated bikeshed. We should be where other |
31 |
FOSS-liked projects and users are. |
32 |
|
33 |
From what I've seen, at least these projects are *lurking* in Libera |
34 |
already: |
35 |
- Blender (move confirmed?) |
36 |
- CentOS (move confirmed?) |
37 |
- Mageia |
38 |
- Neomutt |
39 |
- Postgresql |
40 |
- Slackware |
41 |
- Ubuntu (move confirmed?) |
42 |
- Wikimedia (move confirmed?) |
43 |
- ZNC (move confirmed?) |
44 |
|
45 |
While other projects seem to be looking an alternative communication |
46 |
media to IRC altogether (Fedora, Qt). |
