The fact that we disagree on something doesn't mean that I'm not
listening to your arguments.  Your argument is hardly new anyway.
People have been arguing that we don't need a Code of Conduct for as
long as we've had a Code of Conduct, and longer.  I just disagree with
them.

And my sense is that a majority of developers disagree with them,
because I've been up-front about this for as long as I've been running
for Council, and they elect me all the same.

I don't see what it is that I'm blocking somebody from doing.  How
many times have I said that I think the Council is supposed to be
fairly hands-off?  For the most part the purpose of the Council is to
remove barriers to contribution.

Now, if you see the barrier to contribution as being the CoC, then
we're just going to have to agree to disagree.  You're just one
person, and there are a lot of people who agree with the CoC.

Ah, if we just stopped kicking people out about once every 5 years
when they go harassing people or whatever the reason might happen to
be, we'd be a much better place?

Just what is it in the Code of Conduct that you find so objectionable anyway?
