Wasn't mine - though you might have seen my name in the email a few |
13 |
times between the shotgun blasts. :) |

Personally I think that impact on workflow needs to be minimized, but |
16 |
change is change. |

I don't see a CIA website replacement as a "need" for the git |
19 |
migration, since it isn't even a regression - we don't even have it |
20 |
for cvs now. |

I see no harm in discussing it here, but actually if you can drum up |
32 |
support for a separate project you'll probably actually get more help. |
33 |
There was nothing Gentoo-specific about the service CIA provided. |
34 |
The issue was that the itch CIA scratched for most was apparently the |
35 |
IRC bot and not the website. |
36 |
|
37 |
ESR argues that the website would be better designed by directly |
38 |
analyzing the repo rather than receiving broadcasts from it. |
39 |
|
40 |
So, I wouldn't limit the scope of any project you want to start to |
41 |
only Gentoo. If we end up rolling our own this seems as good a place |
42 |
as any to discuss it. However, if it takes on a life of its own |
43 |
you'll quickly want to set up some other place, if only to make those |
44 |
who don't use Gentoo feel less put off. |
45 |
|
46 |
Oh, and frankly I'm far more concerned that contributors have the |
47 |
chance to contribute than they do it on the right mailing list. Don't |
48 |
let anybody else tell you otherwise. No harm in trying to direct |
49 |
things to the right place, but the message should be first and |
50 |
foremost: THANKS! |
