[gentoo-security] Where to start...

Hi,
I am fairly new to the group - I understand the basics of security and
know a little about iptables and my current thoughts are that by
subscribing to this group I would pick up a few things from people with
way more knowledge then me.  

I saw a post today re: Port knocking - and was hoping that someone could
point me in the direction of some good how-to's so that I can start a
good script of my own, or at least use a good script as a base and build
on that - can you recommend any good sites ?
