1 I suspect that Oracle prefer to certify their apps against a binary
2 distribution as then it is easier to know that everyone is running the
3 same package versions, etc.

5 Perhaps there could be an ebuild created that specified the exact
6 versions of everything that Oracle specified.

8 Kernel version, GCC version, Glibc version, GCC flags - the whole
9 shebang.

11 That way, Oracle could be sure that emerging "oracle10base" would bring
12 a Gentoo system up (or down) to the levels that the app was certified
13 to.
