Hello everybody,

I have combed through bugtraq this week and these might be interesting
issues:

Shaun Colley reported a bug in smbprint yhich might be exploitable
because of a missing symlink check in /tmp. The Samba team has answered
and stated that this bug only affects the Samba 3.0.2a distribution and
it will be fixed in the next release.

Xine seems to have problems. See for yourself:

http://nettwerked.mg2.org/advisories/xinebug

And there are severe problems with ethereal, discovered by Stefan Esser
from e-matters:

http://security.e-matters.de/advisories/032004.html

I filed bugreports to bugs.gentoo.org concerning the Xine and Ethereal
issues.

regards,
Tobias W.
