For those of you who are interested in backing up Mac OS X clients with
Bacula I just discovered one gotcha... Bacula will only back up data
forks from HFS/HFS+ filesystems.

If you want to use Bacula to back up data and resource forks on a Mac
OS X client it must use UFS for its filesystem, not HFS/HFS+. Mac OS X
can do this no problem providing it was configured this way during the
OS install. If it wasn't there's a little bit of work involved in
changing the filesystem type (you have to use Carbon Copy Cloner or
similar to copy your install to a different drive, format the original
drive as UFS and then restore your system to the now-UFS formatted
volume).

Hopefully this will save someone some grief when searching through the
list archives one day!
