IPCop is Gentoo based..? ;-) |

Just to clarify things: I don't want to fork a firewall |
17 |
project/appliance based on Gentoo. I simply want to replace an existing |
18 |
Gateway which is based on Mandrake (started on 7.2, now it's still 10.1) |
19 |
- but since I've moved all my hosts to Gentoo, this is the last one |
20 |
based on an aother distro.. ;-) |
21 |
|
22 |
Actually, I don't need (and don't want) things like |
23 |
"click-your-router-o-matic" that IPCop, ShoreWall, and the like provide |
24 |
- but on the other hand very small distros like e.g. f4l, freesco or |
25 |
other striped down lack a few things I want ;-) |
26 |
And above all, I want a system that does not have "release cycles" and |
27 |
therefore EOL for updates... just keep your installation up-to-date and |
28 |
(e)merge upstream versions in the system.. which brings me to Gentoo :-) |
