for the record, last weekend I regressed the systemd stuff back to my 
openrc setup before.  The system is much mo bedda now.

Yes, it would be nice to have the docs cleaned up, and I am sure that 
it will come in time.  Speaking for myself, it would have been helpful 
to fully appreciate the invasiveness of the changes before heading off 
into the wilderness this time.  Fortunately I've only made such a bone 
headed upgrade a couple of times in the last decade, so all things being 
equal...

Fair enough.  As a note, the reason I brought it up to the Gentoo's 
GSoC group is that it might be something an enterprising intern would 
want to take a poke at over the summer...

Now, I'm back off to NASA to work with our own interns.

Oh, in parting.  I had not known that Chrome OS is Gentoo based...
