Well, the problem we run into here is typically the quality of the 2.6 kernels isn't that great on sparc64 (though a lot better than sparc32). We've been hesitant to mark any of them stable because while some may work fine on some machines, they don't on others (i.e. 2.6.6 runs fine on a Blade 100 but locks up consistently on an Ultra 2). So you can try at your own risk if you want, but basically we're trying to avoid bug reports we can't do too much about by marking a 2.6 kernel stable. - -- Jason Wever Gentoo/Sparc Co-Team Lead -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.2.6 (GNU/Linux) iD8DBQFBf7judKvgdVioq28RAkvGAJ9IyjlX4sAzBm/8NLb3u66D5NFX+wCfUGIk f2dIRpby6AXTnXA0A4shaSg= =aPnO -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- -- gentoo-sparc@g.o mailing list
