Das heißt auf Rechnern, die "bereits laufen" und vollständig
partitioniert und formatiert sind, läuft nix mit AFS? Danke.

Sehe ich anders. Wenn mir der NFS Dämon oder Samba "abraucht", komme
ich immer noch an meine Daten heran. Lokal und auch remote (FTP, SCP,
NCP oder was auch immer). Da muß man schon sehr viel Vertrauen zu AFS
haben.
