Nic= e to know you never suffered issues=E2=80=A6

I woul= d to this way with config but, later genkerneled and loaded through menuconf= ig the file=E2=80=A6

I prefer genkernel Because pro= vides flexibility but creates you an initramfs for returning from sleep/hibe= rnate=E2=80=A6 although I later change slightly that initramfs lol =F0=9F=A4= =A3

All my systems run custom-= configured kernels built from on stable
gentoo-sources.

All I've ever done for a kernel upgrades is to g= o into the new kernel
source dir and do the following:

# zcat /proc/zconfig >.config
# make oldconfig

# make
# make install

For the past 20+ years, that has always worked f= ine for minor version
changes (e.g. 5.15.x =E2=87=92 5.15.y)=

There have been a few major upgrades in th= e past 20 years when a large
kernel subsystem change require= d some sort of manual intervention with
a "make menuconfig".= But, I can't actually remember the last time it
happened (i= t's been years).
