Subject: [gentoo-user] Gwenview requires Xemacs ??
Date: Sun, 29 Dec 2024 08:14:02 -0500 [thread overview]
Message-ID: <Z3FLGrv9BILMQ19G@ca.inter.net> (raw)
I just did my weekly update, which involved only Cfitsio Elogind.
Afterwards, it warned me :
!!! existing preserved libs:
>>> package: sci-libs/cfitsio-4.5.0
* - /usr/lib64/libcfitsio.so.10.4
* - /usr/lib64/libcfitsio.so.10.4.4.1
* used by /usr/lib64/libgwenviewlib.so.4.97.0 (kde-apps/gwenview-24.08.3)
Use emerge @preserved-rebuild to rebuild packages using these libraries
When I checked into this & double-checked via 'emerge -pvt', I got :
These are the packages that would be merged, in reverse order:
...
[ebuild N ] app-xemacs/emerge-1.13::gentoo 60 KiB

'eix gwenview' gives me :
[I] kde-apps/gwenview
Available versions: (6) 24.08.3^t ~24.12.0^t
{X activities debug fits +handbook +mpris raw semantic-desktop share test}
Installed versions: 24.08.3(6)^t(14:37:41 12/15/24)(X activities fits handbook mpris semantic-desktop -debug -raw -share -test)
I tried with 'USE="-activities -fits -mpris", but the list was the same.
Why am I suddenly required to install Xemacs ?
Any ideas are very welcome.
