3 currently I am runnning nvidia-drivers-173.14.15 for my FX-5600 and
4 kernel version x86_64-2.6.27-gentoo-r8.

6 I don't know, if the driver 173.14.15 works for you, but if it does,
7 than kernel 2.6.27 might me a solution.
