Hi, |
2 |
|
3 |
you may know that M$Excel has a number format called "accounting" IIRC, |
4 |
that lines up the currency sign: |
5 |
|
6 |
$ 10.00 |
7 |
$ 100.00 |
8 |
$ 1000.00 |
9 |
$ -123.45 |
10 |
|
11 |
etc. Openoffice, as far as I've know it from 1.x to the current 2.x |
12 |
doesn't have such an option. The formatting comes out like this: |
13 |
|
14 |
$ 10.00 |
15 |
$ 100.00 |
16 |
$ 1000.00 |
17 |
$ -123.45 |
18 |
|
19 |
etc. For a large spreadsheet, with lots of number, the aligned "$" is |
20 |
much easier to read. |
21 |
|
22 |
I've tried to get around it with a "custom" formatting that uses the |
23 |
"conditional brackets" <, >, <=, etc: |
24 |
|
25 |
[<=0][RED]"$ "0.00;[>=10]"$ "#.00;"$ "0.00 |
26 |
|
27 |
But this only works (kind of) with numbers 99.00 and less, because over |
28 |
100, the $ gets misaligned again. |
29 |
|
30 |
I then tried |
31 |
|
32 |
[<=0][RED]"$ "0.00;[>=10]"$ "##.00;[>=100]"$ "###.00;"$ "0.00 |
33 |
|
34 |
but for some reason, the [>=100] condition gets deleted by openoffice, |
35 |
so next time I look it isn't there! I suspect this is something to do |
36 |
with the fact that >=10 and >=100 overlap, and ooffice doesn't know what |
37 |
to do... or something... |
38 |
|
39 |
Also, there's no way of doing >10 AND <100 for a condition... |
40 |
|
41 |
Anyone have a solution for the "accountancy" problem, or some |
42 |
suggestions for my number formats? |
43 |
|
44 |
I would greatly appreciate any leads. I'm trying to convert some of our |
45 |
company's excel documents to open office, and this will halt the |
46 |
process :( |
47 |
|
48 |
TIA! |
