3 For your money the 890FX from AMD with an AM3 socket is the way to go right

7 2. Get at least 850W of power (1KW can be had for $169 if you shop around)

10 As for drives and cases, the OCZ Vertex 2 in raid 0 will run blazingly fast.
11 Get 4 drives in raid 5, 2TB can be had for about 80.

13 I've been running 64 bit gentoo for a while yet, some minor issues with
