Bah! You are actually right. Your comment cued me to look at my config |
15 |
file again. When I thought I changed it to match ATTRS instead of |
16 |
SYSFS, I made a stupid typo. In addition, it turns out that I also |
17 |
have to change BUS=="usb" to DRIVERS=="usb" (a change that I made also |
18 |
in the spirit of your observation). |

Also, a bit of playing around shows that udevinfo is actually quite |
21 |
sensitive to how it is invoked. If I issue |
22 |
|
23 |
udevinfo -p /block/sda/sda1 -a |
24 |
|
25 |
instead of whatever it was that I used before (a really really long |
26 |
string for the path), udevinfo shows the parents correctly. It just |
27 |
goes to show that there are still rather large gaps in my |
28 |
understanding of how udev works. |

Thanks to all who chimed in, |

Tell me a story. |
36 |
I like stories. I read them a lot. I'm just a little girl, you know. |
37 |
I don't ever plan to grow up either. You hear? Never grow up! You |
38 |
lose too much... |
39 |
I had a parakeet once, named Violet. She was the only one left... We |
40 |
had four. Peter Pan and Lily went to live with some friends, so there |
41 |
were two. And then Pip died. I loved Pip... he might have been my |
42 |
favorite. So we buried him in the backyard, and then there was |
43 |
Violet. |
44 |
Then there was Harpo. He wanted to eat Violet. |
45 |
So she went to live in my third grade classroom... and stayed there to |
46 |
the end of her days. I went to visit Violet after I left the third |
47 |
grade occasionally, but then, well, I guess Harpo took her place, when |
48 |
he stopped biting so much and started being nice. |
49 |
Tell me a story. I like stories. |
