13 I just had this problem while upgrading an older desktop. What's happening
14 is... you updated cracklib to version 2.80 which installed it's libraries
15 under /usr/lib and the install scripts left an old 2.70 cracklib library
16 under /usr.

18 Look under /usr and then under /usr/lib. Checking tobe certain that cracklib
19 2.80 is indeed installed on your computer. Then delete the old *crack* stuff
20 from /usr. Pam will now install correctly.
