6 I once failed emerging gcc-4.5.3 because I ran out of inodes. That was
7 when I have a single partition for root, with slightly less than
8 320'000 inodes.

10 I was forced to re-create the filesystem, and finally decided to use
11 ReiserFS instead. You may want to use ReiserFS at least for /var/tmp
12 to prevent more inodes problems. After all, /var/tmp (especially
13 /var/tmp/portage) consumes inodes like a hungry dog.
