10 Sounds like the driver for your network card isn't loaded. If the NIC
11 works with the liveCD but not with the kernel you compiled then you may
12 just be able to `modprobe` it in, otherwise you may need to recompile.
13 Try running `lsmod` from the LiveCD, and maybe post the output of
14 `lspci` here.
