37 Did the emerge complete without error? The answer that question is the

40 It looks like you have gone a long time without updating, so if you hit
41 problems, and you do have one block there, a simple "emerge --ask
42 @system" /may/ be a better place to start.

44 I'd also drop -v from the invocation as it is the main cause of your
45 "spurious debugging/tracing info". emerge is verbose enough on its own
46 and will give you plenty of feedback if something isn't quite right, -v
47 just buries the important information in noise.
