8 It actually isn't that important to stay abreast of the newest
9 profiles. If you actually look at the profile, you'll see three
10 files. One of them is packages, which just specifies the minimum
11 versions for a couple packages (in this case baselayout, binutils,
12 gcc, and glibc). The other imporant one is make.defaults which just
13 specifies the default USE flags, which are overriden by any changes
14 you have in make.conf. Probably the only thing that will change if
15 you move to a new profile is you *might* get some new default USE
16 flags, but since you probably have quite a few of your in in make.conf
17 this probably won't even change anything. Also, the settings in
18 make.conf rarely change from version to version.
