Cups has a historical problem of nuking working config files found in
the /etc/cups/ tree.

I *always* copy the relevant /etc/cups/*.conf files to either a .bak
or a .date.bak extension. That way when cups inevitibly nukes the old
configs you can just manually fix those relevant config files.

So just go look on another system and manually copy/edit those
missing/modified config files, then restart the cupsd daemon.
