1	I've solved this problem. In case anyone ever runs into anything similar
2	both qutebrowser and luakit require specific gstreamer plugins for each
3	html5 video type. The media-libs/gst-plugins-meta package was not
4	sufficient as it only contained a collection of audio plugins.
