1 The workaround I applied is to put an initfs image into kernel.
2 The init script there "pre-mounts" the root file system and afterwards
3 switches root. Nothing else.
4 I tested twice by booting the machine and intentionally turning its
5 power off.
6 When stared again xfs recovery starts, finishes, then the switch_root
7 takes place followed by the real init routine. In other words everything
8 seems to work as supposed to.
9 If the problem doesn't appear again after several unclean shutdowns I am
10 going to send a bug report.
