9 Yes, tmpfs is backed by virtual memory not real memory so it will use your
10 swap if needed. However, by default, each tmpfs mount is limited to 1/2
11 the physical RAM.

13 In any case, it seems questionable to put yourself in a position where
14 tmpfs is hitting the HD often; it's not tuned for such craziness and
15 probably performs worse than other filesystems in that case.
