Hi everybody, |
2 |
|
3 |
I did my emerge sync and emerge -uv world a bit ago. This was not a |
4 |
good idea. It downgraded dbus, hal and gnome-vfs. I saw the downgrade |
5 |
was going on and figured there must be a problem so I let it downgrade. |
6 |
Well after that was done I was going to restart the services so that the |
7 |
"upgrade", which was a downgrade, would take effect. Well, now ivman |
8 |
won't restart. I get this nasty error though: |
9 |
|
10 |
> root@smoker / # /etc/init.d/ivman start |
11 |
> * Starting Automounter ... |
12 |
> /usr/bin/ivman: error while loading shared libraries: libhal.so.1: |
13 |
> cannot open shared object file: No such file or |
14 |
> directory |
15 |
> [ !! ] |
16 |
> root@smoker / # |
17 |
|
18 |
|
19 |
So I figured something got borked. I ran revdep-rebuild -p and here is |
20 |
what I got: |
21 |
|
22 |
> root@smoker / # revdep-rebuild -p |
23 |
> |
24 |

25 |

I'm not a genius, as y'all well know, but isn't that a awful lot to |
163 |
fix? I ran this the other day and it gave me a clean bill of health. I |
164 |
think I unmerged that #$@%^ gnome-vfs thing a while back too. Where is |
165 |
that coming from? I use KDE. |
166 |
|
167 |
Before I do anything and make it worse, should I force it to upgrade to |
168 |
what I had before on hal and dbus or let it fix what the downgrade |
169 |
borked??? I made a copy of my config files too. LOL I'm getting smarter. |
170 |
|
171 |
Oh, it don't mount CDs anymore either. This ain't good. I liked it the |
172 |
way it was when the little thing popped up when I put in a CD. It did |
173 |
freak me out the first time though. :/ |
174 |

175 |
Thanks |
