6 That shouldn't be there. Normally, that directory is created and later
7 removed by /sbin/rc - which is run numerous times at boot. So this seems
8 really wrong.

10 I would suggest a clean cut by running `rm -fr /var/lib/init.d/`
11 and doing a reboot. Services won't be stopped, but your filesystems will
12 be remouted ro, so they should be fine. I've tested this on my box and
13 didn't have any problems.
