22 After two days of fighting with it, I was able to get it to work.
23 It seems to me GPT is not compatible with my old BIOS after all. Using MBR and an old legacy grub worked.
24 The fdisk partitioned the /boot partition sda1 starting from 2048 and it worked without any problems.
