Howdy, |
2 |
|
3 |
I'm having trouble configuring my sound card so as to be able to record |
4 |
voice as well as talk on Skype. |
5 |
|
6 |
Whenever I try recording my voice using arecord, or do a Skype test |
7 |
call, the audio output I get is static and squeaky. |
8 |
|
9 |
I went through the instructions described here, |
10 |
http://wiki.gentoo.org/wiki/ALSA, and set things up where applicable as |
11 |
best as I could tell. |
12 |
|
13 |
Here's the details of my current setup: |
14 |
Sound card: |
15 |
00:1b.0 Audio device: Intel Corporation 82801I (ICH9 Family) HD Audio |
16 |
Controller (rev 02) |
17 |
Subsystem: Gigabyte Technology Co., Ltd Device a002 |
18 |
Kernel driver in use: snd_hda_intel |
19 |
|
20 |
ALSA packages installed: |
21 |
media-libs/alsa-lib-1.0.27.2 |
22 |
media-plugins/alsa-plugins-1.0.27-r1 |
23 |
media-plugins/gst-plugins-alsa-0.10.36 |
24 |
media-sound/alsa-utils-1.0.27.2 |
25 |
|
26 |
cat .asoundrc |
27 |
defaults.pcm.!card Intel |
28 |
defaults.pcm.!device 0 |
29 |
|
30 |
What else am I missing here? |
31 |
|
32 |
Thanks. |
