-U was "upgrade-only"... I think it meant it would not downgrade a |

package (even if a downgrade were required). My guess is that it was |

removed because it broke stuff lol. I never understood why it would be |

used anyway. It's not usual that something needs to be downgraded and |

when it is it's usually for good reason. |
