Three months *is* a dangerously long time to leave a Gentoo system, whether |
6 |
you like it or not, and just asking for trouble. Eighteen months is worse |
7 |
than ridiculous - it's impossible to work with. |

You aren't listening. You've already had several answers. Just go back and |
13 |
read them - and be prepared to admit that you might be mistaken here and |
14 |
there. |

Several of the world's most highly qualified experts on running Gentoo |
17 |
systems have offered you their advice. I submit that it would be arrogant to |
18 |
ignore it or repudiate it. |

I dislike that colour combination too. Two possibilities: either specify |
26 |
nocolor, or select the dark text with the mouse to show it in what we used |
27 |
to call reverse-video. |

*Guess?* Good God, man. You don't guess - you use your experience and your |
33 |
logical reasoning to deduce likely cause and effect. |

If you aren't prepared to learn how to maintain it, to put it bluntly Gentoo |
36 |
is not for you. You've been told that several times too. |
37 |
|
38 |
I'm sure none of us want to drive you away, but you make it clearer each day |
39 |
that you don't want to adapt to Gentoo. You may argue that the machine |
40 |
should adapt itself to the human, not vice versa, but that requires you to |
41 |
choose a setup that tries to do so. Gentoo is not that system. Full stop. |
